New Year's Eve In Auckland City. Auckland's newest New Years eve festival is for friends, families and party people of all ages. 


What is Wondergarden?
It’s a place for friends, families, party people of all ages and music lovers from all walks of life. Wondergarden is a musical and visual celebration with a lineup curated from world class international acts, and New Zealand’s most exciting artists. As well as a full afternoon and evening of main stage artists, Wondergarden features roaming performers, children’s performers and entertainment, and New Zealand’s most sumptuous street food all spread across one wondrous day and eve at one of the city’s best loved places, Silo Park.

How do I find Wondergarden?
The festival is located at Silo Park, situated in the Wynyard Quarter. Wynyard Quarter is to the West of Viaduct Harbour and North of Victoria Park in an area that has been known to many Aucklanders’ as the Western Reclamation or the Tank Farm. Head towards Wynyard Quarter and you’ll find Silo Park on the corner of Jellicoe and Beaumont Street – just look out for the giant Silos! Please be considerate of the neighbourhood when arriving/leaving the festival.

Will there be enough tickets to go around?
There is a strictly limited capacity for Wondergarden and therefore only 3500 tickets available. Some of those are kids tickets. We recommend getting in quick to avoid missing out

When and where do Tickets go on sale?
Tickets will be on general sale from August 14th. You can buy them from our website, and also our ticketing partner EventBrite. Please note, this is an all ages festival, but anyone under the age of 18 attending, must be accompanied by a paying parent or legal guardian

Will there be door sales on the day of the event?
Presales will stop at 12pm on Dec 31st. If not sold out prior, limited gates sales will be available at the entrance of Wondergarden. The prices are:
Adults: $110
Children: $55
Infant (under 5): FREE

A 2.5% surcharge will apply on all credit card purchases

How much are tickets?
The cost of presale tickets are as follows:
Adult Earlybird $75.00 + b.f
Adult General Admission $95.00 plus b.f
Kids Earlybird (12 and under) $30.00 + b.f
Kids General Admission $45.00 plus b.f
Under 5's are FREE but a ticket is still required due to venue capacity

WIll there be passouts on the day?
Passouts will only be available for festival guests with children who need to take them home and return back to the festival.

How do I pay on the day?
We will be using AWOP as a money system, rather than cash or EFTPOS or credit card.
What that means is you will need to top up a card upon arrival. it will be quick and it will be painless and you can top up as much or as little as you want.
The reason we use this system is because it’s fast, it helps us avoid queues at bars and food places, and it means we don’t have to have large amounts of cash on site. It’s industry standard and we very much do this to make things run smoother for us and for you. There is a one off topup cost of $3.50 to use the system and receive a card. There is also a $1 bond on the card which you receive when you return it. We don’t make money from this, it’s not a money grab, those top up costs cover the staffing, the system, the devices and the infrastructure. We appreciate your understanding.

AWOP refunds
Any money you don’t spend on your card on the day, you can get a refund on site on the day at any time, or do it online up to 30 days after Wondergarden, you can do this at www.awop.co.nz

Is there camping on site?
No, Wondergarden is a one day event that runs from 2pm until 1:00am. If you are coming from outside of town we recommend booking accommodation early.

Are there any age restrictions?
No, Wondergarden is an all ages event. From zero-year-olds to a million-year-olds, our doors are open. You will need to be over 18 to purchase alcohol. Anybody under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Is Wondergarden BYO?
No BYO alcohol is not permitted on site and will be confiscated if found. We will have bag checks at the gate, so don’t risk it. We will have licensed bars operating on site where people over 18 will be able to purchase a drink. Please take it as a compliment is we ask you for I.D. it means you are looking great!
Please note there is a strict liquor ban in place outside of the festival so please don't be having a cheeky drink on the way to or from Wondergarden.

Can kids go for free?
Under 5s have free entry to Wondergarden when coming with a paying adult, but you will still need to get your little ones a ticket when you purchase your own because we have strictly limited capacity. 5-12 year old tickets are available but must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Will there be free water on site?
We provide free water from taps around the site as well as from all of our bars. We recommend bringing an empty water bottle to use on site.

Will there be food available onsite? Can I bring my own?
There will be a wide selection of amazing food vendors on site for the duration of Wondergarden. There will be vegetarian and vegan options too. Festival goers may bring their own food into the festival site, but please remember, no glass.

What will there be for kids to do?
There is going to be lots of fun things to do in our kids area. Parents, this is not a drop-off, babysitting zone, but we do promise to provide a good selection of games, entertainers and workshops.

Are animals allowed on site?
Unfortunately not, the only animals permitted on site are disability assist dogs.

Is there car parking available at Wondergarden?
There is no parking available on our festival site. We highly recommend using alternative transport to Wondergarden!

Will there be plenty of toilets?
There sure will. Portaloos and public toilets are located at various points around the site. There will be disabled access toilets also.

What happens if I lose something?
Please visit our information booth onsite during the festival to drop off/pick up any lost items. Please contact hello@wondergarden.co.nz after the event with a detailed description of your lost possession, and full contact details (phone, address, email).

What happens if I lose my child, or friends, or parents?
We have a lot of helpful staff on site to make sure that if anyone gets lost, we will be sure to help them be found again. Lost children (or people in general) should be reported to a security guard or event staff member, or our helpful staff at the information booth.

What do I need to bring?
Don’t forget your ticket and ID to prove your age (if you have a kids ticket we will be checking you are 12 or under), we also recommend bringing sunscreen, sunhats and clothes relevant to the weather, and of course bring your party pants and an awesomely open mind!

What should I not bring?
Don’t bring alcohol, drugs or any other illegal substances, glass, couches or other seating (small folding chairs are ok), fireworks, flares, sparklers, fire pois or other flammable bits and pieces, gas bottles, cookers, glass, pets, weapons, gang patches, sound systems, or laser pointers. For the love of god, please don’t bring laser pointers.
Also, we at Silo Park are endeavouring to head towards a zero waste policy. What that means, is that we ask you to avoid bringing plastic bags and/or plastic wrap on site, unless realllly necessary. Also the following items are prohibited
- polystyrene
- balloons
- glowsticks
- non-compostable/non-recyclable straws
- non-compostable/non-recyclable paper plates and cutlery
All our food vendors use strictly compostable/recyclable cutlery, plates and napkins.

Will there be first aid on site?
The good people at St. John’s ambulance are always on site. You will find them located near the Silo Park container bar. We also have first aid kits at all our bars. Please be sure to bring your own medication and/or epi-pens if you may need to use them.

Is there wheelchair access at Wondergarden?
Absolutely, the whole site is accessible on wheelchair. Please note there are some slight inclines on our grassy area.

Is it ok to bring glass bottles on site?
No glass of any kind is allowed on the festival site! Please respect this rule for other people’s safety.

Do you guys have recycle, food waste or general rubbish bins?
We have them all! This is a really special site, and we look after it all year round to make sure it stays beautiful, clean and green. We have a strong focus on sustainability and are heading towards being a zero waste site. Please dispose of your waste in the correct recycling, food waste or landfill bins located around Silo Park.

Will there be filming and photography on site?
By attending an event supported by ATEED you enter an area where photography, audio and video recording may occur.
By entering the event premises, you give your permission to use your image in photography/film in perpetuity for any advertising (including any paid media and promotional purposes) and editorial (such as press, news, presentations, aucklandnz.com) use by ATEED and third parties as determined by ATEED for the purpose of promoting Auckland as a destination to live, work, visit, study, invest, do business or hold events.
By entering the event premises, you waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any use of these materials.
